Makugawa Onsen Yoshikuraya

One of two inns at Makugawa Onsen, one of the secluded hot springs scattered throughout the Tsuchiyu pass. The inn has an indoor bath made of Japanese cypress and fed by a simple spring, the water of which can be drunk, and a sulfur-spring open-air bath. Here you can enjoy the different water qualities provided by two sources. You can also partake in “forest bathing” in a natural Japanese beech woodland in the open-air bath notable for its mineral deposits. On some days, there are so many the water turns cloudy. Immersed in the sounds of leaves as the trees sway in the wind and the clean air of elevation 1300 m, this is an inn where you can appreciate the gifts of the land to your heart’s content.
