Makugawa Onsen Mitoya

One of two inns situated on in the mountains at an elevation 1,300 m, close to the ridgeline of the Azuma mountain range. There are two indoor and four open-air baths fed by two sources. Of these, the prides of the establishment are an open-air bath carved from an 800-year-old Japanese cypress and the riverside open-air bath, with its bluish-hued milky-white water. Surrounded by a natural forest of Japanese beech and oak, this is a secluded spring over which a vast starry sky extends at night. Here you can appreciate bathing in the embrace of nature. The simple rural cooking of the inn that accentuates natural flavors will put you at ease.
