Measures to control the spread of Red Imported Fire Ants and mitigate climate change in Mie Prefecture (January 12, 2022)

Parliamentary Vice-Minister Nakagawa visited the Yokkaichi Port Container Terminal, where Red Imported Fire Ants (RIFA) were observed, to learn about control measures to prevent their spread. He also visited facilities implementing efforts under support from the Ministry of the Environment and exchanged opinions on Mie Prefecture's climate actions.

New Year's message to the staff (January 7, 2022)

Minister Yamaguchi gave a New Year's message to the staff via the ministry in-house broadcasting service. Following COP26, 2022 will be a critical year of action against climate change in the "decisive decade" toward 2030. In view of this, he called on all ministries to work together to address issues such as environmental diplomacy, regional decarbonization, the reconstruction of Fukushima, and nuclear disaster prevention.
