Using the Content of the Ministry of the Environment Website

NOTE: The Japanese version of the Terms of Use is the original. The English version is for reference only and the Japanese version prevails in case of any discrepancies between the two languages.

 

Unless otherwise specified, the copyrights of the information (hereinafter referred to as the "Content") posted and transmitted on this site belong to the Ministry of the Environment.The "Public Data License (Version 1.0)"(PDL1.0) applies unless otherwise specified.Content that can be used in accordance with “Public Data License (Version 1.0)” is hereinafter referred to as "This Content".
For information on the parts of PDL1.0 that differ depending on the site, such as examples of source descriptions unique to this site and content to which this rule does not apply, refer to "Important note on Public Data License (Version 1.0)."

 

Important note on Public Data License (Version 1.0)

1.1 Source citation

  1. (1) The user must cite the source when using “This Content”. Sources should be cited in the following manner for how to cite the sources, such as by replacing the name of the information provider and its URL. If the URL link can be used as a source, the user can also add the link to the relevant text in the parentheses.

    • Source: Ministry of the Environment website (URL of the relevant page)
    • Source: "XX Survey" (Ministry of the Environment) (URL of the relevant page) (accessed on year/month/day)
  2. (2) If the user has edited “This Content” for use, you must include a statement expressing that “This Content” has been edited and the name of entity, in addition to the abovementioned source citation. But not in any way making public or using edited information in a format that may be misconstrued as if national government or the relevant ministries has just created and unedited by anyone else.

1.3 Contents where Use is Restricted by Specific Laws and/or Ordinances

  1. (1) Use of this Content may be restricted by specific laws and/or ordinances. Laws and ordinances listed below are particularly important to note:
Restriction of replication and use when using the map (Basic Survey Results) developed by the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan based on Survey Act

Some of the content of the Ministry of the Environment website uses the map developed by the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan.
Regarding the replication distribution and secondary using of a certain format of the map (the Basic Survey Results) based on Survey Act, the user shall obtain approval from the head of the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan.

(Examples of the content using the maps developed by the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan)
  • Content with a source citation that indicates using of the map developed by the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan
  • Content with a word registered as a trademark by the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan (Examples: CYBERJAPAN) in source citations, etc.

1.4 “This Content” where “This Terms of Use” does not apply

    (1) “This Terms of Use” herein does not apply to the following Content.

2.Links to the Ministry of the Environment Website

In principle, links to the Ministry of the Environment website may be made without prior permission. However, please observe the following points. Linking to particular Content should also be conducted observing these points:

  1. Please state explicitly that the link is to the Ministry of the Environment website; and
  2. Please do not link to the Ministry of the Environment website within the window or frame of another website.
