State Minister Ishihara's Official Visit to the Nagadoro District of Iitate Village in Fukushima Prefecture (October 30, 2019)
State Minister Ishihara inspected the contaminated soil recycling demonstration project at Nagadoro district, Iitate Village. The evacuation order issued after the Fukushima-Daiichi Nuclear Accident in 2011, has been lifted for most areas of the village in 2017, except the hamlet of Nagadoro. He also expressed great appreciation for the ongoing recovery effort and promised MOE support to the community.

Minister Koizumi visited Koriyama in Fukushima, to see the typhoon impact and people's efforts to rebuild their lives in the aftermath of powerful typhoon Hagibis. He spoke to local residents and rescue personnel to understand the current situation and their needs. He also inspected the provisional disposal site with the city council, and shared determination to speed up recovery.

MOE's NCV (Nanocellulose Vehicle) and AGV (All GaN Vehicle) Projects Drive Net-Zero Emissions Future at the Tokyo Motor Show 2019 (October 24, 2019)
Minister Koizumi presented the MOE's next-generation vehicles at the 46th Tokyo Motor Show. AGV is about 20 percent more efficient than current models thanks to the special gallium nitride (GaN) material used in its inverter. NCV is made from cellulose nanofibers (CNF), a material derived from wood pulp, one-fifth the weight of steel and five times stronger.

Minister Koizumi visited the Daiba Children's Afterschool nearby the Aomi Pier, where swarms of red fire ants have been found, in order to teach children about fire ants. He addressed the effects and hazards of fire ants and inspired them to take an interest in current environmental issues.

6th Annual Meeting of the Innovation for Cool Earth Forum (ICEF) in Tokyo (October 10, 2019)
Since 2014, the Government of Japan has hosted the ICEF. It aims to nurture discussion and collaboration among participants and to disseminate innovations in energy and environmental technology to participants and beyond. G20 Resource Efficiency Dialogue 2019 & Follow-up of the G20 Implementation Framework for Actions on Marine Plastic Litter, in Tokyo (October 9, 2019)
The event was to promote cooperation and dialogue between G20 members following on the G20 Osaka Summit. "G20 Report on Actions against Marine Plastic Litter" was developed as the first initiative for sharing information on the policies, outcomes, challenges, and best practices. A further outcome of the dialogue was the adoption of "Roadmap for the G20 Resource Efficiency Dialogue".

ASCW organized the ASEAN-Japan Smart Cities Network High-level Meeting, the 8th Asia Smart City Conference, and the Launch Meeting of the Global Smart Cities Alliance on Technology Governance, to provide an open forum for cities in Asia, representatives of national governments, international organizations, and private sector and other relevant stakeholders, and to further promote initiatives.
