Participated in the University Presidents' Summit on the contribution of universities and other institutions to achieving carbon neutrality. (March 23, 2021)

Minister Koizumi, together with Minister Hagiuda from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and State Minister Ejima from the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry, exchanged ideas with the presidents of more than 100 universities and other institutions for the launch of the University Coalition for Carbon Neutrality 2050. Minister Koizumi welcomed the development of the decarbonization domino effect originating from universities, such as a Zero Carbon Campus.

The 11th Japan Committee for the United Nations Decade on Biodiversity (UNDB-J) (March 19, 2021)

Minister Koizumi attended the 11th meeting of UNDB-J. The Committee reviewed the achievements and challenges over the past ten years of activities toward mainstreaming biodiversity in preparation for COP15 and discussed the future direction of the succeeding organization.

Online meeting with H.E. Mr. Sharma Alok Kumar, COP26 President Designate, Member of Cabinet and Parliament of the UK Government (March 15, 2021)

Minister Koizumi had an online meeting with Mr. Sharma, COP26 President. This is the first ministerial-level bilateral meeting since Minister Koizumi was appointed Minister in charge of Climate Change. During the meeting, both sides confirmed that they would work more closely together toward the success of COP26.

The Japan Circular Economy Roundtable (March 2, 2021)
