State Minister Kiuchi's Official Visit to Cambodia and Bangladesh (June 27 - July 1, 2019)

Prior to the meeting of ASEAN Senior Officials on Environment (ASOEN) in September, State Minister Kiuchi paid an official visit to Cambodia and Bangladesh. He met with ministers and several government officials in both countries to engage in frank exchanges of views on the upcoming ASEAN meeting and enhanced environmental cooperation.

Bilateral Meeting with Indonesia's Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Pandjaitan (June 27, 2019)

Inspection Visit to the Oze National Park, Fukushima (June 22, 2019)

Parliamentary Vice-Minister Kanke visited the the Oze National Park, to support environmental remediation as a part of the revitalization of Fukushima. Oze National Park is an immense natural expanse actually shared by four prefectures - Niigata, Gunma, Fukushima and Tochigi.

Japan Committee for the United Nations Decade on Biodiversity (UNDB-J) (June 20, 2019)

The UN General Assembly at its 65th session declared the period 2011-2020 to be the United Nations Decade on Biodiversity. It was proposed by the Government of Japan during "10th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP10), Convention on Biological Diversity, held in Nagoya, in October 2010.

Japan-CLP (Japan Climate Leaders' Partnership) Symposium 2019 (June 17, 2019)

G20 Ministerial Meeting on Environment and Energy (Part 1) (June 15-16, 2019)

G20 Ministerial Meeting on Energy Transitions and Global Environment for Sustainable Growth was held in Karuizawa, Nagano on June 15 and 16. This Ministerial Meeting is co-chaired by Japan's Minister of Environment and Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the G20 leaders have adopted the official communiqué and other annexed documents.
