Partnership with UNEP and CAA toward sharing of cleaner air in Asia (July 24th, 2014)
Representatives of the United Nations Environmental Programme Regional Office for Asia Pacific (UNEP/ROAP) and of Clean Air Asia (CAA) visited Parliamentary Senior Vice-Minister of the Environment Mr. Shinji Inoue and discussed measures to address air pollution in Asia. They agreed to collaborate on various projects in this respect.

Parliamentary Senior Vice-Minister of the Environment Mr. Kitagawa visited Ikoma, an Environmental Model City with progressive environmental actions such as the reuse of bottles and plates. He also visited International Environmental Technology Centre (IETC) of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and discussed our cooperation with its staff members.

The Ministry of the Environment co-hosted a symposium commemorating the 50th anniversary of Japan's accession to the OECD. (July 7th, 2014)
Various presentations and panel discussions on the OECD and Japan's policies and efforts in the environmental field were held at the Japan-OECD Symposium themed, "Towards a Sustainable Society in Asia." Parliamentary Vice-Minister of the Environment Ms. Tomoko Ukishima made the opening remarks at the Symposium.
United Nations High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development (July 7th-8th, 2014)
Parliamentary Senior Vice-Minister of the Environment Mr. Shinji Inoue attended the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development and discussed issues of accountability and cooperation for the achievement of the post-2015 development agenda with other government representatives.
