Due to the effects of both the Great East Japan Earthquake and the accident at Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO)'s Fukushima Daiichi NPS, the living environment in the areas affected by the disaster has changed tremendously.

Removal of the designation as Areas under Evacuation Orders

As initiatives for reconstruction such as decontamination, infrastructure rebuilding, and restoration of lifestyle foundations implemented by national and local government have progressed, evacuation orders have been gradually lifted since 2014.
