Ecotoxicity testing of PPCPs

Pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) have been detected in environmental waters in Japan, but knowledge of their ecotoxicity remains limited. The Ministry of the Environment is undertaking a programme to collect and assess information on the environmental effects of PPCPs and has conducted ecotoxicity tests on substances for which data is insufficient.
