Rausu Visitor Center

The Rausu Visitor Center is a facility established by the Ministry of the Environment to connect visitors with nature. The Center provides visitors with an understanding of the Shiretoko National Park and the information necessary to enjoy the natural environment through exhibits and videos explaining its natural environment, history, culture, and use. Also provides rentals of rubber boots necessary to explore Lake Rausu, and bear spray. (Requires a fee)

Shiretoko World Heritage Rusa Field House

In addition to providing rules and regulations for mountaineers and sea kayakers etc. venturing into areas not visited by ordinary tourists such as Mt. Shiretoko and Cape Shiretoko, the Field House focuses on the natural beauty of Shiretoko, providing information on the area, exhibits on the inter-relationship between marine and land ecology, and information on the historical relationship between man and the sea in Shiretoko, for ordinary tourists.

Shiretoko Nature Center

The Shiretoko Nature Information Center. A video theater introducing the grandeur of almost inaccessible Shiretoko (entry fee). Managed by the Shiretoko Nature Foundation responsible for investigations related to wildlife management and park use, the employees present a hand-crafted exhibition for the benefit of all. Light meals, souvenirs, and local products available in the store.

Shiretoko Goko Lakes Field House and Shiretoko Goko Lakes Park Service Center

Two facilities constructed in the Shiretoko Goko Lakes Picnic Site. The Shiretoko Goko Lakes Field House is the entrance to nature trail, and provides information on walks and procedures. The adjacent Park Service Center provides a rest area, and sales of souvenirs and light meals. A pay car-park is available, however it becomes crowded in summer, use of the shuttle bus is recommended.
