The Preparatory Meeting for the Inaugural Meeting of the Regional 3R Forum in Asia was held on June 29-30, 2009 at Mita Conference Hall in Tokyo, Japan. The meeting had the participation of 12 Asian countries, through their representatives from the Environment and other relevant ministries, and also experts and various bilateral/multilateral donors, including UN agencies.
During the meeting, possible collaborative programs and activities of international organizations and aid agencies were discussed, to address priority issues under the Forum, as well as a statement draft aiming for adoption at the Inaugural Meeting of the Forum.
