Observation of the site of bear appearances in Hachioji City, Tokyo, and exchange of views with Mayor of the City on countermeasures

Minister Ishihara observed the state of bear appearances in Hachioji City, Tokyo, and exchanged views with relevant parties including Mayor of the City, Principal of an elementary school near the site, and representatives from Tokyo Metropolitan Government, on the state of countermeasures and issues. Based on the observation, he also instructed to strengthen the efforts including establishment of a new bear management team in the Ministry and organization of training for local governments.
