Commemorative Release Ceremony for Crested Ibis (Toki) in Noto Region

Minister Ishihara attended the Commemorative Release Ceremony for Crested Ibis held in Hakui City, Ishikawa Prefecture. Under clear blue skies, eight crested ibises took flight powerfully across the skies of Noto Region for the first time in nearly half a century. The reintroduction of crested ibises on Noto will be a symbol of Noto’s recovery from earthquake in 2024 and a step toward the future, aiming to achieve Nature Positive through conservation and restoration of Satoyama where crested ibises live.
