Minister Asao participated in COP29 held in Baku, Azerbaijan, where he negotiated with ministers of each country, through multiple ministerial-level negotiation meetings and bilateral meetings with Azerbaijan, the EU, China and other countries and organizations. He also presented Japan's initiatives and technologies through seminars and other events at the Japan Pavillion, proactively approaching the international community to enhance climate action towards achieving the 1.5℃ target.
