Dialogue on discharge of ALPS treated water into the sea

Minister Ito participated in dialogue held in Shiogama City of Miyagi Prefecture regarding the discharge of ALPS treated water into the sea. He explained to participants from the fisheries industry etc. that the results of monitoring conducted to date by the Ministry of the Environment showed that tritium concentrations would have no adverse impact on human health and the environment. He also stated that MOE would firmly maintain monitoring with a high level of objectivity, transparency, and reliability.
