Launch of “NATIONAL PARKS OF JAPAN’S STAMP COLLECTION” Campaign to Promote Touring Around National Parks
In order to encourage more people from Japan and abroad to enjoy touring around Japan’s national parks, the Ministry of the Environment is launching the “NATIONAL PARKS OF JAPAN’S STAMP COLLECTION” campaign for a limited period of time. Visitors can collect uniquely designed stamps at visitor centers and related facilities in each national park on a stamp sheet, on which the names of national parks are written in Japanese calligraphy.
Outline
From Hokkaido to Okinawa, there are 35 unique national parks in Japan, where visitors can experience not only beautiful natural scenery and flora and fauna, but also region-specific aspects of people's lives, including history, traditional culture, and food, which have been nurtured by the nature there.
The visitor centers and related facilities in each national park provide easy-to-understand displays and explanations to help visitors deepen their understanding of the attractions of national parks.
The “NATIONAL PARKS OF JAPAN’S STAMP COLLECTION” campaign aims to have more people from Japan and abroad understand the attractions of national parks and promotes touring around them by encouraging people to visit visitor centers and related facilities.
In particular, with regard to inbound visitors to Japan, which marked a record number in 2024, the campaign has been created so as to also draw their interest, encouraging them to visit national parks in regional areas, and alleviate the tendency to converge in some areas, especially cities.
