These are the waters on the west side of the Musashi Bank and Rishiri and Rebun islands. The Musashi Bank is a feeding ground for flounder, sand eel, herring, and others, and it is a good fishing ground (Sakurai, personal communication). These waters also are an important feeding ground for migratory birds that breed on Teuri, Yagishiri, Rebun, and other islands.
