These are the waters in the vicinity of Futaoi Island in sea of Hibikinada and the coast of the city of Shimonoseki (from Kuruminose to Kasamatsu Point). The coast of Murotsu consists of gently shelving shallow sandy beaches, where shells wash ashore in great diversity. Also seen here are Ensiculus cultellus, Gomphina semicancellata, common Orient clam, Dosinorbis troscheli, Olivella fulgurata and others, and Lovenia elongata are numerous here as well. At the mouth of the Murotsu River live Nuttallia olivacea and Gari minor (Yamaguchi Museum, 1992).
