These are the waters in the vicinity of Sakihama. Along the coast from these waters to Cape Muroto unfold seaweed bed ecosystems, consisting of typical Ecklonia kurome beds (Ministry of the Environment, 2001). This also is an important feeding ground for the green turtle (Kamezaki et al., 2013; Ishihara et al., 2011).
