These are the waters on the east side of Suo-Oshima Island in the town of Suo-Oshima, Oshima-gun.
In these waters unfold eel grass beds and seaweed beds, with a mixture of beds of eel grass, sargassum, Ecklonia kurome, and others, and the sea extending in front of the coast here is rich in biodiversity (Ministry of the Environment, 2001).
