These are the waters in the vicinity of the mouth of the Onosato River. These waters are river-mouth tidal mud flats, and while small in scale they are abundant in halophytes and habitat for numerous species of benthic animals seen nowhere else in Osaka Bay (Ministry of the Environment, 2001).
