These are the waters on the eastern side of Ise Bay (the western side of the Chita Peninsula). Eel grass beds unfold off the coast of Tokoname (Ministry of the Environment, 2001). This also is a habitat for mudskippers (Kimura, personal communication; Mie Prefecture Red Data Book).
