These are the waters in the vicinity of the Port of Onahama. They extend from the Misaki Park area to the Port of Onahama and include the mouth of the Same River in front of Cape Unoko as well as the coastline known as Kikutaura. They also include the natural monument of Terushima, a cormorant habitat. Seaweed communities, mainly of kombu kelp and Sargassum fulvellum, extend along the coast near Onahama and Cape Shioya (Ministry of the Environment, 2001).
