Public Comments Invited regarding the Draft First Regular National Report on the Implementation of the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety in Japan

The third meeting of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety was held in Brazil from the 13th to 17th of March 2006. In the meeting, a draft format for the first regular national report on the implementation of the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety was adopted, and the deadline for the submission of the report was decided to be no less than 12 months prior to the fourth meeting of Conference of the Parties.
The Ministry of the Environment (MOE) has drafted the report with the cooperation of related ministries and agencies. The MOE invites comments from the public regarding the draft report. Comments will be accepted from March 23, 2007 to April 23, 2007.
All procedures related to this invitation for public comments will be conducted in Japanese. Comments need to be submitted in Japanese.
