Results of 7th Viet Nam - Japan Environmental Policy Dialogue

The Ministry of the Environment, Japan (MOEJ), and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam held the 7th Viet Nam - Japan Environmental Policy Dialogue with on Wednesday, November 24, 2021.

To achieve Viet Nam's carbon-neutral target by 2050, Minister of the Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha and Minister for the Environment YAMAGUCHI Tsuyoshi agreed and signed the "Joint Cooperation Plan on Climate Change toward Carbon Neutrality by 2050 between the Minister of the Environment of Japan and the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment of Viet Nam" (JCP).

Later on the same day,the two Ministers exchanged the JCP during document exchange ceremony in the presence of Vietnamese Prime Minister H.E. Mr. PHAM Minh Chinh and Japanese Prime Minister KISHIDA Fumio.

In the Environmental Policy Dialogue, the two Ministers discussed the cooperation on climate change and marine plastic litter and other areas, and confirmed the cooperation until today, and exchanged opinions on future cooperation.
