New certification of "Place for Nature-Based Experiences" based on "Act on the Promotion of Environmental Conservation Activities through Environmental Education" "Uenbetsu Elementary School Coca-Cola Environmental House (Specified non-profit organization Uenbetsu School) "

 About certification of "Place for Nature-Based Experiences" based on "Act on the Promotion of Environmental Conservation Activities through Environmental Education", on March 10, 2021, "Uenbetsu Elementary School Coca-Cola Environmental House (Specified non-profit organization Uenbetsu School)" has been certified as a "Place for Nature-Based Experiences". This is the first certification of "Place for Nature-Based Experiences" in Hokkaido.

 With this certification, there are 25 "Place for Nature-Based Experiences" in Japan.

.About certification system of "Place for Nature-Based Experiences"

 The certification system of "Place for Nature-Based Experiences" is based on Article 20 of "Act on the Promotion of Environmental Conservation Activities through Environmental Education". The certification system of "Place for Nature-Based Experiences" is a system which the place of application is certified by the Prefectural governor based on the application.Only when the owner of a private land / building provides nature experience activities or social experience activities on the property / building.

 For the certification, there are requirements for ensuring safety and the implementation system. The certification system of "Place for Nature-Based Experiences" has led to the provision of "guaranteeing the high quality of environmental education" and "opportunity for hands-on activities which people feel safe in participation" in the accredited place. As of the end of March 2021, 25 locations are accredited.

 In "the basic policy for the promotion of Environmental Conservation Activities, Motivating Participation in Environmental Conservation, Environmental Education, and Collaborative Efforts" (Cabinet decision in June 2018) based on "Act on the Promotion of Environmental Conservation Activities through Environmental Education", experience activities are emphasized as the direction of future learning, and, as the core, the certification system of "Place for Nature-Based Experiences" is recommended utilize actively.
