COP 10 side-events and exhibition booths to be hosted by the MOE

In accordance with the fifth meeting of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety (COP-MOP 5) and the tenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 10,) more than 350 "side-events" are scheduled to take place during the conferences.

Side-events are session-style events hosted by the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity as places to introduce efforts and actions of each contracting party or organization, to share information or to exchange different views. In a number of conference rooms located inside and outside the Nagoya Congress Center, which is the venue of COP-MOP 5 and COP 10, multiple side-events will be held mostly at around break times of the plenary meeting.

The MOE is planning to hold 19 side-events and some exhibitions and presentations at the CEPA Fair inside the Nagoya Congress Center during COP 10. Though the side-events to be held inside the Nagoya Congress Center are only for the conference participants, 6 side-events to be held outside the Nagoya Congress Center are open to the public as well.

In addition, at the Interactive Fair for Biodiversity to be held in the Shiratori Park near the Nagoya Congress Center, the MOE will hold 7 exhibitions in 4 booths during COP-MOP 5 and COP 10, in order to transmit information on biodiversity. These exhibitions will also be open to the public, and your visit is highly looked forward to.
