Japan-China Cooperation on Environment on the outcome of the Transfer Ceremony of the Model Projects on Decentralized Waste Water Treatment System

Mr. Osami Sagisaka, the Director-General of the Environment Management Bureau, visited the People's Republic of China from July 19 to 24, to participate in a transfer ceremony of a model project in Taizhou City, Jiangsu Province, on decentralized waste water treatment system which was carried out under the bilateral Ministerial Agreement signed in 2008. Another ceremony was held at Chongqing City which also was attended by representatives of the MOE, Japan.

Prior to the ceremony, Mr. Sagisaka attended a regular dialogue in Beijing to exchange views with Mr. Zhao, Director-General of the Department of Total Emission Control of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, on the 4 existing bilateral cooperation in water and air sectors, including the decentralized water treatment system. Both sides reaffirmed the importance of the bilateral environment cooperation.
