Japan Awards for Biodiversity

AEON Environmental Foundation and the Ministry of the Environment have agreed to establish "Japan Awards for Biodiversity" to promote "Conservation of Biodiversity" and "Sustainable Use" in Japan the 10th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP10) to be held in Aichi-Nagoya in 2010.
Prominent efforts will be awarded in the categories of "Field," "Research," "Product," and "Communication," respectively. The "Japan Awards for Biodiversity Grand Prix (Tentative)" will be awarded by the Minister of the Environment to the best effort selected from among all categories.
The awarding ceremony will take place on October 9 this year in Aichi-Nagoya, the site of COP10.
