World Wetlands Day (WWD) Symposium 2020 in Tokyo

Ahead of WWD, UNU-IAS and Wetlands International Japan held a symposium on the theme "Wetlands and Biodiversity". Celebrated annually on February 2, WWD marks the date of the adoption of the Convention on Wetlands in the Iranian city of Ramsar on the shores of the Caspian Sea, on the same day in 1971. It aims to raise global awareness about the vital role of wetlands for people and planet.
