3-1Arakawa Trail Entrance - Jomon-sugi Cedar round trip (day trip)

This is the main route to and from the Jomon-sugi Cedar, one of Yakushima Island’s famous ancient trees. More than 20 km in length, the course takes at least 9 hours to complete, involves a change in elevation of approximately 700 m, requires ample physical strength, trekking experience, and a trekking plan. Noteworthy aspects of the course include the Wilson-kabu Stump, Meoto-sugi Cedar, Old Kosugidani Village Site, and remains of the forest railway.
