Guidelines for Harmonizing Marine Litter Monitoring Methods Using Remote Sensing Technology

MOE released the Guidelines for Harmonizing Marine Litter Monitoring Methods Using Remote Sensing Technology after discussions with experts around the globe in order to further improve the comprehensiveness and efficiency of marine litter monitoring, including litter drifting ashore.
These guidelines consist of 3 parts: the main body, the Annex, and the Appendix. The main body provides a general overview of the measurement methods of marine litter using multiple remote sensing technologies.
The detailed methodology for each remote sensing technology in the Annex, and the Appendix presents the results of a demonstration test conducted to ensure the practicality of the methodology in the Annex.
