1. On February 6, 2026, DOI Kentaro, Vice-Minister for Global Environmental Affairs, Ministry of the Environment of Japan and H.E. Mr. Md. Daud Ali Ambassador of Bangladesh to Japan signed the Memorandum of Cooperation on Environment to promote bilateral cooperation between Japan and the People’s Republic of Bangladesh on climate change, environmental management and other relevant areas.

2. The two countries will further strengthen the cooperation in alignment with the Memorandum of Cooperation.

■ Outline of the Memorandum of Cooperation

DOI Kentaro, Vice-Minister for Global Environmental Affairs, Ministry of the Environment of Japan and H.E. Mr. Md. Daud Ali Ambassador of Bangladesh to Japan signed the Memorandum of Cooperation on Environment to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Japan and the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in the field of environment.

Areas of cooperation included in the Memorandum of Cooperation:
- Mitigation and adaptation to climate change;
- Pollution prevention and quality control;
- Waste management;
- Conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity; and
- Other areas related to environmental protection.
The two countries will closely work for further cooperation.
