Forum on Promoting the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) in India
The Ministry of the Environment (MOE) of Japan, and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MOEFCC) of India will jointly host the “India Forum: Advancing International Carbon Markets for Climate Ambition, Sustainable Development and Shared Prosperity” in Delhi, India, on September 28, 2026. The forum will be co-organized by the Overseas Environmental Cooperation Center, Japan (OECC) and the World Bank.
The morning program will feature a high-level session, “India’s Vision for Global Carbon Market Cooperation,” covering the latest developments in India related to international carbon markets. The session will also showcase recent efforts to develop the digital infrastructure and institutional frameworks needed to implement Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.
In the afternoon, the forum will feature “Advancing the India–Japan Joint Crediting Mechanism under Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement,” a session focused on JCM implementation. The agenda will include updates on recent JCM developments, including the Rules of Implementation (RoI), as well as presentations by Japanese and Indian companies showcasing decarbonization technologies and solutions, with a view to facilitating the development of new JCM projects in India.

If registrations for in-person participation exceed capacity, priority will be given to representatives from the business sector, and participants will be selected by lottery. Applicants will be notified of the results using their contact details provided at registration.
Every effort will be made to notify international participants as early as possible to allow sufficient time for them to make travel arrangements.
Those wishing to attend in person are encouraged to register early.
