IAEA-MOE Japan 3rd Experts Meeting on Volume Reduction and Recycling of Removed Soil Arising from Decontamination Activities

Upon the request of the Ministry of the Environment (MOE), Japan, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will hold the 3rd Experts Meeting from February 5 to 9 on Volume Reduction and Recycling of Removed Soil Arising from Decontamination Activities. Experts will discuss measures taken by MOE Japan to promote the recycling and final disposal of removed soil and associated public understanding.

Overview

The Experts Meeting on Volume Reduction and Recycling of Removed Soil Arising from Decontamination Activities will be held by IAEA upon the request of MOE Japan, and will provide assessment, advice and support.
 
This is the first framework between IAEA and MOE Japan, related to the recycling and final disposal of removed soil and associated public understanding .
The third and the final meeting will be held as scheduled below, and during the meeting, views and opinions will be exchanged between MOE Japan, IAEA and experts.
 
Currently this third meeting is planned to be the last meeting, and the final report of the meetings will be prepared by IAEA followed by submission to MOE Japan, and will be made open to public.
