Announcement of "The Seminar for Net-Zero and Well-Being in Life" at the COP 28 Japan Pavilion, Co-Organized by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change of India and the Ministry of the Environment, Japan

(1) Background and objectives
　In the bilateral meeting held in April 2023 between NISHIMURA Akihiro, then Minister of the Environment of Japan, and H.E. Mr. Bhupender Yadav, Minister for Environment, Forest & Climate Change of India, the ministers agreed to hold a G7/G20 join workshop on changes in lifestyles and sustainable consumer choices based on the common understanding that change in behavior on the demand side or among consumers is critical for climate control. Accordingly, an online workshop was held on Thursday, November 16, 2023 (* Reference 2).
　At the COP 28 Japan Pavilion, a seminar will be held through cooperation with the Government of India, with the objective of providing opportunities for participants to share with each other experience and good practices on demand-side policies and business initiatives, including the presentation of the results of the online workshop. The seminar will be intended to strengthen initiatives at the public, private, and various other levels in countries around the world, and accelerate change in consumers' lifestyles and behavior in terms of climate change and the environment in the important ten-year period until 2030.
