Outcomes of the Joint Committee on Waste Management and the Joint Committee between the Ministry of the Environment, Japan, and Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs, Republic of Indonesia
- On February 10, 2026, the Ministry of the Environment, Japan and the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia held the 8th Joint Committee on Waste Management in Jakarta, Republic of Indonesia.
- On February 11, 2026, in Bandung, West Java Province, a ceremony was hosted by the West Java Provincial Government for the Legok Nangka Waste-to-Energy Project, which is jointly supported by the Ministry of the Environment, Japan, JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency), and IFC (International Finance Corporation). The Ministry of the Environment, Japan was represented by Mr. Doi, Vice-Minister for Global Environmental Affairs.
- At the ceremony, the Ministry of the Environment, Japan, JICA, relevant ministries and agencies of the Government of Indonesia, local governments including the West Java Provincial Government, and the Government of the Netherlands welcomed the progress of the Legok Nangka Waste-to-Energy Project. They also expressed their expectations for continued cooperation and their commitment to contributing to the project’s further advancement toward the conclusion of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
