Ministry of the Environment, Japan, and the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Ecology and Environmental Protection Sign the Memorandum of Cooperation in the Field of Environmental Protection

NISHIMURA Akihiro, Minister of the Environment, Japan, and H.E. Mr. Vladimir NOROV, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Republic of Uzbekistan, signed the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of the Environment of Japan and the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Ecology and Environmental Protection in the Field of Environmental Protection during Minister NOROV’s visit to Japan.

Background:

On the occasion of the visit by Mr. KUCHKOROV, then-Chairman of the State Committee for Ecology and Environment Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan, to Japan in June 2019, he proposed signing a memorandum of cooperation in the field of the environment. Since then, the Ministry of the Environment, Japan, has been working with the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan towards the conclusion of the memorandum. The two countries signed the memorandum this year, which marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Uzbekistan.
