MOE Japan Selects a Project for the FY2022 Support Project for Overseas CO2 Emission Reduction through Strategic International Expansion of Japanese Waste Management and Recycling Industries (Second Round)

  1. The Ministry of the Environment (MOE), Japan, has been actively supporting the overseas expansion of Japanese waste management and recycling industries with excellent technologies such as waste treatment systems and recycling facilities.

As part of this initiative, MOE Japan supports the project for feasibility surveys concerning overseas expansion of Japanese waste management and recycling industries by providing the Subsidy for CO2 Emission Control Measures (“Support Project for Overseas CO2 Emission Reduction through Strategic International Expansion of Japanese Waste Management and Recycling Industries”).
 
  1. As a result of the screening by the panel of experts set up by the Japan Waste Research Foundation, one projects has been selected.

Project outline

The Subsidy for CO2 Emission Control Measures (Support Project for Overseas CO2 Emission Reduction through Strategic International Expansion of Japanese Waste Management and Recycling Industries) is a project to provide a subsidy for feasibility surveys to be conducted overseas within the next few years, in connection with projects for providing waste management services or projects for constructing facilities as entrusted by waste treatment business operators, etc. (limited to those directly conducive to reduction of CO2 emissions from energy sources).
 
In this Project for FY2022, MOE Japan started to publicly call for applications on April 18, 2022. In the second round of the selection process in FY2022, MOE Japan selected, on December 2, 2022, the following one project in addition to the two projects selected in the first round that were announced on August 9, 2022. The public call of applications for this project was closed on November 30, 2022.

Based on the results of the screening by the panel of experts set up by the Japan Waste Research Foundation, the following one project has been selected.
