Environmental Regeneration and Material Cycles Bureau, Ministry of the Environment of Japan, and Department of Local Administration, Ministry of the Interior of the Kingdom of Thailand, sign a Memorandum of Cooperation in the Field of Waste Management
The Environmental Regeneration and Material Cycles Bureau of the Ministry of the Environment (MOE), Japan, has been aiming to build a cooperative structure with the Department of Local Administration of the Ministry of the Interior of the Kingdom of Thailand (hereinafter referred to as DLA), which has jurisdiction over general waste management.
At the end of 2020, the DLA requested MOE Japan to conclude a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) in the field of waste management between the Director-Generals of the two countries, and the MOC was concluded on August 19, 2022.
The two countries will strengthen mutual cooperation in waste management and recycling based on the concluded MOC.

Memorandum of Cooperation between Environmental Regeneration and Material Cycles Bureau, Ministry of the Environment of Japan and The Department of Local Administration, Ministry of the Interior of the Kingdom of Thailand in the Field of Waste Management
Purpose
The purpose of the memorandum is intended to promote and consolidate cooperation between both sides with a view to obtaining mutual benefits in the field of waste management.
Areas of cooperation
The field of waste management policy and other fields of interest to Japan and Thailand.

(b) Exchange information and experiences on policy development and implementation
