National Parks in Japan
What Are National Parks
The national park system was established to protect outstanding natural scenic areas representative of Japan, and pass them on to the next generation. The national government is responsible for designating, protecting, and managing these parks. These national parks protect vast natural environments, and contribute greatly to preserving biodiversity. In addition to nature and scenery, these are also places where one can come into contact with human history and culture.
