Enhancing international cooperation on measures against invasive alien species 2025
The following are the events and meetings held in 2025 in order to strengthen international cooperation on measures against Invasive Alien Species (IAS).
The Tripartite Invasive Alien Species Expert Meeting (held in Jeju, the Republic of Korea on Aug. 26th, 2025)
The government officials and experts from Japan, China, and the Republic of Korea discussed high-risk IAS such as the Red Imported Fire Ant and the Yellow-legged hornet and exchanged views on countermeasures and future cooperation among the three countries.
G7 Workshop on IAS (held online on Dec. 3rd - 4th, 2025)
Canada hosted the G7 workshop on IAS as the G7 presidency in 2025. G7 countries and relevant international organizations shared recent information and efforts on IAS and discussed future directions for cooperation among G7 countries.
