Special Event Held: Asian Mayors on the Signing of the Kyoto Declaration for the Promotion of Environmentally Sustainable Transport (EST) in Cities

The Ministry of the Environment of Japan, the United Nations Centre for Regional Development (UNCRD) and the Clean Air Initiative for Asian Cities (CAI-Asia) jointly organized a special event for the signing of the Kyoto Declaration by Asian mayors for the promotion of EST in cities on the 12th of November, 2008, during the Better Air Quality (BAQ) 2008 workshop in Bangkok, Thailand.

12 Asian mayors became new signatories to the Kyoto Declaration, joining the 22 mayors who have signed already.
