Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden Registers Its Commitment towards Implementing the International Agenda for Botanic Gardens in Conservation

Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden was added to the list of institutions declaring their intent to contribute to the implementation of the "International Agenda for Botanic Gardens in Conservation" (hereinafter referred to as "International Agenda") on April 28, 2006, the day the Garden's 100th Anniversary Memorial Ceremony was held.

The International Agenda is a global policy framework, developed by the Botanic Gardens Conservation International (Secretariat in UK), covering the roles and actions of botanic gardens worldwide in biodiversity conservation

With this registration, Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden is going to further its work in playing a leading role in the conservation of endangered wild plants and in raising public awareness on their value.
