Report of Sightings of one of the Released Japanese Crested Ibises
The Ministry of the Environment (MOE) received information regarding a report of sightings of a Japanese crested ibis in Tomioka, Tainai City, Niigata Prefecture on October 27, 2008. Based on the characteristics of the individual, there is a possibility that it is one of the crested ibises released in Sado last month. The Kanto Regional Environment Office has therefore decided to work together with Niigata Prefecture from now on to collect reports of sightings from the local residents, etc.
