The Designation of 4 new Ramsar Sites under the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands

Four new Ramsar Sites in Japan were registered at the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands on October 30th during the 10th Conference of the Contracting Parties to the Ramsar Convention (Ramsar COP10). Lake Biwa, one of the Ramsar Sites in Japan, was also expanded in its registered dimensions.
The number of Ramsar Sites in Japan on the Ramsar List increased to 37 including the four previously designated sites.
