Results of the 2nd Tripartite Policy Dialogue on Chemical Management in China, Japan and Korea as held in Seoul, Korea, September 1-3.

The 2nd Tripartite Policy Dialogue on Chemical Management in China, Japan and Korea, organized by the Korean government, was held from September 1st to September 3rd, 2008 in Seoul, Korea. On the first day a GHS (Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals) comparison study was conducted in the 1st Expert Meeting on GHS with the participation of around 30 experts from government and academia in China, Japan and Korea. On the second day, an open seminar was held, wherein some experts from government, industry, and academia from the three countries presented on the chemical management policies in the three countries, the strategies for responses to REACH, and the GLP's agendas.

On the last day, a government officials meeting was held amongst the three countries. During the meeting the officials agreed upon several principles and forms of future co-operation in chemical management, and that the next policy dialogue will be held in China.

The outcome from this policy dialogue will be reported to the 10th Tripartite Environmental Ministers Meeting (TEMM10) to be held in Korea.
