The 16th Environment Congress for Asia and the Pacific (ECO Asia 2008) to be Held

The Ministry of the Environment and Nagoya City will convene the 16th Environment Congress for Asia and the Pacific (ECO Asia 2008) on Saturday, September 13th, and Sunday, September 14th, in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture. The aim of this meeting is to promote policy dialogue on the environment through the free exchange of views from representatives from many nations, including environmental ministers from countries in the Asia-Pacific region and international organizations. The main topic for discussion at ECO Asia 2008 is "Biodiversity".

As a related event, there will also be a signing ceremony of Countdown 2010 on Saturday, September 13th, and Nagoya City and the Executive Committee of Nagoya Open University will co-organize "A Commemorative Symposium for ECO Asia 2008" on Friday, September 12th.
