Results of Japanese Crested Ibis Breeding for 2008
The Ministry of the Environment is pleased to announce the results of Japanese crested ibis breeding for 2008. This year, 20 pairs laid 121 eggs at the Sado Toki Conservation Center, the Toki Reintroduction Center and the Tama Zoological Park, out of which 29 chicks hatched and are now growing. The current population of the Japanese crested ibis is now 123.
